the collective potential

Who do we work with?
Our clients are mostly business managers and owners who are comeptent yet find themselves working with narrower margins and constraints and need to raise their level of effectiveness.
In case after case, I have watched people use the principles of question-based teams turn around stuck, low productivity teams, even when the members came from diverse backgrounds with varied needs. The situations were as dissimilar as planning a date for two, to organizing and conducting a UNESCO conference on religious diversity.
In businesses, families, social organizations and union contract negotiations, I have watched the OQA produce not only superior outcomes, but in the process, improve communication and develop a sense of ownership of the process by everyone involved. In addition, integrating the OQA relieves tensions and reduces the competition which can destroy a project or company from the inside.
We work with existing companies wanting revitalization and with start-ups seeking to establish their organization’s identity. The OQA offers an easy-to-learn process for developing a compelling vision and building strong team cohesion.
For newly forming or established working groups, the OQA is a systematic way to draw out the positive contribution of the entire team or staff. Plus, the Open Question Approach integrates seamlessly with your existing systems, practices and protocols.
What do we do?
The principles for operating from team intelligence are the same for any group committed to producing a result together. However, the training and application are unique to every group since every group has its own unique strengths and needs.
Generally, we first train a working group in how to function as a team and then coach the team in succeeding at the game (producing the product or process) they have chosen to play. A successful team may indeed boast some star players, but it is certainly not required. From our perspective, as with any team activity, there is no substitute for knowing and practicing the skills of the game.
We typically begin with a thorough analysis of the working situation and together with the owner or director design the best program to fit their needs. We often train the executive group first and bring them to a higher lever of coordination. They can then choose how to implement the system within their departments.
